FYI:
ALL Adult Dachshunds need time to adjust to a new environment.
Not only would they need to adjust to a new family,
they would
need to get used to a new home, schedule, food, water...etc.
Even the best potty trained dog would need time to
adjust to a new place.
Consistency on the new owners part will make the transition
much easier on the dog,
You and your home.
All of my adults are used to using dog doors. I have
4 fenced yards of various sizes,
the largest is approx 3 acres and as long as they
get along with everyone else, they can
mostly go out together.
I have numerous adults available for adoption.
The adults are cheaper because I want to see them
in a new home getting lots of attention
and being spoiled rotten!! Everyone seems to want
a puppy or they want to get a dog
from rescue, which is fine, however, responisble breeders
need to find homes for
their retired dogs or they cannot move forward in
their breeding program.
I always take my dogs back, for any reason, for their
entire life. So I prefer to
place retired dogs locally, so if things do not work
out, they can easily come back here.
I am not against placing dogs elsewhere where shipping
is needed, however
the new owners need to understand that the shipping
costs, to and fro will
be the responisbility of the new owner, should the
dog need to be returned at a later date.
I may ask you a lot of questions, not because I am
being nosey, but because
I want to make sure the dog you inquire about will
"fit" into your situation.
Ultimately the BEST home for any dog is a permanent
home. Dachshunds can live
very long lives, this needs to be something anyone
thinks about when they add a
new pet to their family. Dachshunds can also have
numerous health issues which
may not show up until later in life. I want to be
notified of any health issues in
my dogs. I care about each and every dog and I care
about the breed and strive to
produce the most healthy dachshunds possible.

Please consider giving an adult a loving home!!
They would love nothing more than your undivided attention
and love.

I noticed that it looked like Bart's tail veered off
to
the side a bit. He was always the "pick" puppy and
he seemed to
wag his tail all the time and I did not notice this
until he
was about 6 months old and it looked like his right
rear leg was
not as developed as the other leg. I showed this to
my husband,
who is also my Vet and asked him to x-ray him while
he was under
anesthesia during his neuter. When he did, he could
see that Bart has several
(Approx 5) fused vertibra in his back, right over
his pelvic
area, down into the top of his tail. He said he was
surprised
he could walk at all, but walk he does and so well
that he has
a wonderful gait. However, as he ages, he may end
up with some
arthritis and therefore his new home needs to realize
this.
I would just like to find him a "forever" home with
a family
who will love him for his entire life.
Bart with his brother Maverick, both boys wag their
tails all the time!!

Tweed is available to a Pet home, he is already neutered
and is overweight.
Needs to diet, he is a bit on the bossy side, esp
with other males, LOVES talking toys and balls
and just toys with squeekies, which he tears up. He
is mostly used to being around
women since I am the one who spends most of the time
with the dogs.

at that time to prevent any serious infections.
(Pyometria is an infection in the lining of the uterus)

Yes I am a little on the chunky side....but I am VERY

Binky had 7 points toward his Championship. His co-breeder
refused to
register him with AKC, so he was neutered and placed
in a pet home.
He was returned to me because he didn't like the husband
or the teenage girls
in his home. Everyone was afraid of him except his "Momma".
Binky needs an experienced home that knows how to take
care of a dachshund
that wants to be the "BOSS", preferably without children
and definitely without small children.
Binky needs a home that is on the quiet side, not a lot
of visitors. He can easily be persuaded
to like someone through the use of treats. He gets along
well with other dachshunds and likes
to play with them as well (wrestling and such). He doesn't
seem to have any particular toys
that he is attached to. He needs to loose weight so his
new home should be aware of his eating habits.
